In Uganda a mother is very happy if one or preferably all her children can attend a boarding school.
Attending a boarding school means that a child does not have to walk for hours to attend their classes, or is exhausted from doing chores such as fetching water, and then often appearing late in class with an empty stomach. A boarding school also means quality education, in contrast to the poor village schools where the standard is drably low.
A boarding school means that, in addition to education, a child also receives three meals a day, a bed with mattress, clothing, medication, safety and loving care: the full livelihood. A huge help for the family or the tribe of these children. In the holidays the children go back to their family and / or tribe. It is important for them to preserve their own language and culture and to be able to make a difference in their own tribe and country when they are finished with their studies.
Our help model of child sponsorship consists of the help of 7 donors who, each giving € 9, - per month bring together an amount of 63 euros per month for the full livelihood of a child attending boarding school.
