Heart for Children was founded after a collection campaign for orphans in China initiated in 2008 by Hour of Power (TV program at RTL5). A one-time aid project initially. We’ve just reached our 10th year!
The initiators of Heart for Children were closely involved in this aid action and realized that there are many more abandoned and vulnerable (orphan) children living in extremely difficult circumstances worldwide. These children are also entitled to opportunities for a better life. And that requires help. Preferably structural help.
The Heart for Children Foundation was established on the basis of that principle. A small-scale organization that can operate quickly so that the effects are also quickly visible. At present, structural aid is now being provided worldwide in countries such as South Africa, Uganda, Tanzania, Lesotho, Swaziland and Haiti.
Direct help is provided through carefully chosen partner organizations locally. The lines are short; the (overhead) costs are low and the help is therefore maximum and effective.
