Honourable award for Melissa Venema!

Melissa Venema, who is a goodwill ambassador for Heart for Children took part in the Chicago International Brass Festival on the 19th of March, 2010. With 7 other finalists she was selected out of approximately 200 musicians from all over the world. With only 14 years of age, Melissa was by far the youngest finalist. Melissa was awarded third prize and as an extra bonus she received an honourable mention for her performance of the first part of Oskar Böhme’s concert for Trumpet. Because of her fine ear for music, as well as her pureness and high level of playing, the jury very much appreciated Melissa. Of course we at Heart for Children are very proud to have her as an ambassador. We sincerely congratulate her on her achievements.
