In the care-model chosen by us, in which family life is centrally placed, the foster mothers/parents play a crucial part. As mothers they are the role-models in the lives of the children.Heart for Children therefore believes that it is also important for the mothers to be supported and accompanied well. For this end we co-operate with our local partner organizations, where the mothers regularly meet to discuss their problems with the staff of these organizations, and to share their knowledge and receive encouragement.
On the other hand the mothers also receive support from other health and childcare professionals. Sadly enough most of the children in these foster families are HIV-positive. Mothers are therefore trained to take care of these children with aids blockers.
For the education of the children the mothers receive financial stability for the future. This is therefore a win-win situation.
