For the children

Each and every abandoned (orphaned) child has to live without the love and support of his own father and mother. These children therefore are completely on their own and have to behave like “grown-ups” too (soon) in order to survive. But a child deserves to be a child! Full stop!

We at Heart for Children share the conviction that the shelter of a loving family and a warm family life is the most desirable situation for every child.

The solution Heart for Children offers is to create new families within the own community to which the child belongs. For this reason we look for and find (foster) mothers/parents who are willing t

o take care of a family of at the most six (orphaned) children. In co-ordination with the local authorities these children are brought into a loving home. A home with all the amenities a child needs. They are again part of a family in a sheltered environment! These children will again have a mother they can call: “Mama”.

Of course we aim at finding as many fathers and mothers as possible, but in practice there are more mothers willing to take this task upon themselves. This is a win-win situation: they will have a shelter as well as a purpose for their own lives: Sharing their love with the children.

This care-model turns out to be very effective. Thanks to our donors, these children receive food, shelter, clothing, medication and schooling. But also heating, water and light and most importantly safety and love. The children are not offered “half-hope” but “full-hope”. They receive a christian education and on Sundays they go to Sunday-school where they are told of a heavenly Father who loves them!
